Peanut and Moose

Wow! 5 months have flown by!  And here I thought I’d find time at least once a month to keep up the old blog!  HA!  That’s so funny!  Every mom ever is having a knowing chuckle right now.  The past five months have been a sleep deprived yet joy filled, glorious blur!  I am so utterly in love with these twins and they’ve become such a staple of my everyday life, I can hardly believe there was a time I thought I’d never have one child, let alone two!  There is so much I want to share and write about here; since the wee babes were born I’ve struggled with a chronic low milk supply, shuttled poor Peanut to many a hospital appointment for her hydronephrosis (which is not nearly as dire as the name sounds), watched them each grow and learn, reaching new milestones, cheered my husband on while he finished his flight paramedic training, and decided to go back to school myself and get my bachelors, just to name a few.  I’m sure I’ll elaborate on much of those in future blog posts but for now I just want to talk about these amazing babies!

Things that happen to "every" twin mom

-OR- don't believe everything you hear.

Like most first time mom's I read a lot about being pregnant when I got pregnant.  I read even more about twins and what to expect with a twin pregnancy.  Now that I have only days left of this pregnancy, I feel pretty comfortable saying that most of what I read ended up being a load of BS... for me.  I'm sure for other women these things happened, but it just goes to show how every woman, every experience, and every person is different.  My advice?  Read.  Read all you can, and ask all the questions you can, but be realistic and remember that no two pregnancies are the same.  The following is a list of things I read that were often presented as twin preggo facts that just weren't true for me.

Road Trips While Pregnant: Should you do it?

Don't be silly! The answer is NO!

It's clear I'm not as good and regular at blogging as I used to be... and once these babies arrive, I don't expect it to become anymore regular, but whatever.  What can ya do huh?  Life happens.  A lot of life has been happening for us in the past month or so.  Read on to find out what this nesting mama has been up too!

Roses and Pink Unicorns

Let’s get real about pregnancy here for a minute.  I’m pretty sure I’m one of those annoying women that other women hate because I never experienced morning sickness, I’ve gained relatively little weight for twins, and I am truly awed by every little movement that these babies make.  I really do love it, but as I’ve entered the third trimester, there are some truths that ima spit real quick, because what is life, if you can’t laugh your way through the sorta shitty times?

A foxy little woodland mobile

-OR- how I got my crafting mo-jo back

So I finally got a little crafty for these babies and it turned out to be more fun than I had thought. So much fun that I finished my little project in a day.  I thought I would work on it slowly throughout the week!  I'll just have to make sure my next project lasts a little longer.

The best PCS so far

of the whole two we’ve actually done
As far as PCS’s go this one was smooth as butter!  The only thing we’re waiting on is the car and I’m almost afraid to speak too soon incase something goes wrong with that…

Babies in utero and PCSing

How is this less stress?
As we’ve prepared for this PCS and I look back at our first, I’m pleased that this one has been so easy (at least on my emotions) especially with the added “stress” of pregnancy.  I don’t know if I’m lucky or just that experience has lessened the stress , but between my pregnancy and this PCS, I can’t say which has been easier.
